Junelle Preston was born in Australia and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia near the Magdalena River.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Behavior and a Master’s in Human Resources and Organization Development from the University of San Francisco, along with an extensive management career in business technology.

In college, Junelle was attracted to Liberation Theology, learning, and understanding how to empower the poor and defend human rights. These insights have greatly influenced her own journey of freedom for others and reinforced her commitment to get involved in “the little things” of social justice in order to propagate larger changes in the world one step at a time.

Junelle’s focus in business has been on organizational change between employees and technology. This focus enhanced and accelerated her managerial career through employment opportunities in systems design, large scale call-answer deployment, online banking/finance, and more recently six years in global social media at Facebook (Meta).

More recently, Junelle’s passion for writing and journalism became a strong focus in her decision to leave a working career and take up writing as a full time endeavor. It has become a creative outlet toward involvement on what she believes in relationship to feminism, gender choices and the need to continue addressing improvement for those in need.

Junelle is married to a Native American whose tribal work enhanced her exposure to social justice. They have three wonderful children, one bossy cat, and a pack of unruly dachshunds who believe a fireplace, a laptop, and mom writing are intended to revolve around the happy life they now lead.
